Ankur Pathan with his sense of individuality towards dance came to the limelight receiving the Asia Book of Records to Guinness World Records – there have been no dearth of recognitions. He was bestowed with ‘USTAD BISMILLAH KHAN YUVA KALAKAR PURASKAR’, a National Award by Sangeet- Natak Academy (Delhi), under the folk-art category.
He also created a Guinness World Record of coordinating a performance of 4500 Dance Performers at a single platform, in Association with Youth and Culture Department of Gujarat Government, in 2010 – 2011. He also created a World Record of crafting a Maximum Number of Human Pyramids of Tribal Dance Performers with 4000 kids. His Guinness World Record of Folk-Dance Presentation with 2000 Umbrellas at the International Tarnetar Fair, Thangadh, Attempted by Collector Office Surendranagar, and accommodating local school students, still holds a unique place in his memory and list of recognitions.
Ankur Pathan believes that a true choreographer’s certificate is to earn recognition from students and colleagues in the workplace. He feels that a dance form or dancer is not necessarily defined by great technique, skill, or ability to pick up choreography but by confidence. He states that when you feel the music, it penetrates to your soul. From tours and music videos, Ankur Pathan built relationships in the dance community and moved beyond choreography for film and television. He has had the pleasure of coordinating and choreographing some of the most prominent International Delegate visits to India.
